Inperium Glactica 2 is a game that tries to combine Homeworld and Master of Orion into one game, and with mixed results. The game provides three campaigns for different species, each with a epic story giving this game plenty of replayability The graphics are all in 3d and helps immerse you into the playing environment. The only downer about the environments is that don’t feel real, and you can can’t change the screen resolution beyond 640x480, giving the name ‘pixel city’ a double meaning! Speaking of cites, building one on a planet plays like the classic ‘Sim city’. You must meet the demands of the people living in the city or they will revolt, etc. On planets owned by other species, you can trade ships and technologies with them, you can ally forces, or better yet spy on them. If prefer to blow them to bits you can attack them with your destroyers. The battle mode for the ships are descent but for the tanks they are a bit unsatisfying. The music has a sci-fi movie feel. The game play can get dragged out sometimes, A average campaign can take you hours and hours to complete! But the gorgeous cut-scenes and story might just warrant you a purchase!

Good Points

+Epic story

+good gameplay mechanics

+Star graphics are breath taking.

+Lots of replay

Bad Points

-Can’t switch resolution beyond 640x480

-Some campaigns take hours and hours and hours and zzzzzzz....

-Crude tank battles

Bottom Line

+If you liked Master of Orion, you will like this game. If you don’t like strategy games, this won’t convert you.

Overall (not an average) 8.4 out of 10
